Overview

If Zanzibar's dive sites feel crowded, Pemba is the answer serious divers already know about. Separated from Unguja (the main Zanzibar island) by a deep channel, Pemba's steep coral walls and drop-offs are consistently rated among the best wall diving in East Africa — dramatic vertical reefs dropping into deep blue water, with a fraction of the dive boats you'll find further south. Pemba is also home to the region's only endemic mammal, a large fruit bat found nowhere else on Earth, adding a genuine ecological curiosity to an already exceptional diving destination.

Itinerary information

Day 1 - Arrival & Orientation Dive/Snorkel

Fly into Pemba from Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam, with a short transfer to your dive lodge. Afternoon orientation dive or snorkel on a nearby reef to settle in. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 2 - Full Day Diving (Two-Tank)

A full day of diving on Pemba's signature wall sites, with a surface interval and light lunch between dives. Non-divers or those preferring a lighter day can arrange snorkeling on shallower reef sections instead. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3 - Final Morning Dive & Departure

A final morning dive or snorkel before your return transfer to Pemba's airstrip and flight back to Zanzibar or Dar es Salaam.
