How to Get to Udzungwa National Park: Road, Rail & Air (2026)

Udzungwa is the most road-accessible of the Southern Circuit's more remote parks, though "accessible" here still means a real day's travel from Dar es Salaam. Here's exactly how it works.

By road: the standard route

Most visitors reach Udzungwa by road from Dar es Salaam, a journey of roughly 350 km taking around 5-6 hours via Morogoro town and Mikumi National Park on the paved Tanzania-Zambia Highway.
