Itinerary information

Day 1 - Arusha to Central Serengeti via Ngorongoro Highlands

Early pickup from your hotel in Arusha. Board your private 4x4 Land Cruiser and head west through the scenic wheat fields of Karatu and up into the forested Ngorongoro highlands. Cross Naabi Hill gate into the wide southern Serengeti plains. Start your initial game drive en route to the central valley, keeping watch for lions lounging on rocky kopjes, cheetahs scanning the grass, and migrating herds. Arrive at your tented camp for dinner and drinks around the campfire.

Day 2 - Full-Day Big Cat & Wildlife Tracking in Serengeti

Catch the sunrise when predators are actively moving. Spend the morning patrolling the Seronera River valley—one of the best places in East Africa to spot leopards resting in acacia branches and lion prides on the hunt. Stop for a packed picnic lunch under a shady umbrella thorn tree. Continue exploring the surrounding riverbanks and plains to track hippos, Nile crocodiles, giraffes, and seasonal wildebeest clusters before returning to camp for dinner.

Day 3 - Serengeti Morning Safari & Transfer to Ngorongoro

Head out for one final morning game drive through the Seronera plains to catch early hunters before the heat sets in. Begin a slow game-drive exit toward the eastern gate. Drive back up into the forested Ngorongoro highlands, stopping at the main crater viewpoint for panoramic photos of the 600-meter-deep caldera below. Check into your lodge perched near the crater rim for dinner overlooking the highland forest.

Day 4 - Ngorongoro Crater Floor Safari & Return to Arusha

Descend the steep crater walls at dawn for a 5- to 6-hour game drive across the caldera floor. Because the wildlife stays inside the crater year-round, this is your strongest opportunity to see the rare black rhino, massive bull elephants, hyenas, and thousands of flamingos on Lake Magadi. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the Ngoitokitok hippo pool before ascending and returning to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) by early evening.
